Thursday 08 August: Open pairs, 1:00 and 7:00 PM.
Friday 09 August: Open pairs, 1:00 and 7:00 PM.
Saturday 10 August: Open pairs, 1:00 and 7:00 PM.
Sunday 11 August: Round-robin teams, 12:00 noon and 4:00 PM.
Single-session entries accepted to all events. All events will be stratified. Card fees $8.00 per session, students half price. Potluck lunch between sessions Sunday.Special session for players new to duplicate Thursday evening if attendance permits.
Canadian players: we will again be accepting Canadian dollars at par for your entry fees. The tournament starts late enough Thursday that players arriving via Air North from Whitehorse and Dawson City will make it in time for the afternoon session.

Getting here - Fairbanks is served by Alaska and Northwest Airlines by a total of 14 flights a day. Nonstop service to Anchorage, Seattle, and Minneapolis, and same-plane service to most major West Coast airports plus Chicago, Denver, and Seattle. Contact Travelocity, Alaska Airlines, or your travel agent for fares and schedules. Canadian visitors can also try Air North's new service from Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver with an overnight stay in Whitehorse instead of flying via Seattle.
There is also a daily passenger train from Anchorage, and, of course, the Parks Highway from Anchorage and the Richardson and Alaska Highways from everywhere else. There is scheduled bus service from Anchorage and Whitehorse.
Climate - Normal weather for early August in Fairbanks is highs in the seventies, lows in the fifties, and a mix of sunshine and sprinkles. There will be 18 hours per day of daylight.
Accommodations - Fairbanks has a multitude of hotels and B&Bs. The closest to the playing site is the Super 8, three blocks away. RV parking at the site (no hookups) or at the local campgrounds is available. This tends to be a small, friendly tournament, and sometimes we can find room for out-of-towners in the locals' guest rooms.
What else to do in Fairbanks? This year's bridge tournament coincides with the Tanana Valley State Fair. Don't miss the fireworks display at 11:00 Saturday night.
There are 3 golf courses (open 24 hours most of the summer). Local attractions include the University of Alaska Museum and Chena Hot Springs Resort. The FairNet web site provides general information about the Fairbanks area and TourAlaska has tourist information about interior Alaska.
